The Peace of Christ
As we enter into this second week of Advent, we place our focus on peace. Not peace as the world defines peace but the peace that God ushers in.
The Hope of Christmas
It is no wonder that Advent is the prelude to the ultimate gift that we have already received.
A Christmas Wish
As a small child I remember when the Sears Christmas catalog would come in the mail and how I would flip through it dreaming of what I wanted and hoping in some mysteriously magical way that it would miraculously appear on Christmas morning. Unfortunately it was only a wish, a dream that most often didn’t come true but I refused to let my hope die.
A Ray of Hope
When you’ve spent time with the Lord your encounters with Him should be familiar. So much so that when even in the dark, you can find the light, His light. It is what I refer to as God’s “Ray of Hope.” Jesus is our hope, a light that shines in the dark, and for those whose hope is in Him it will never fail.
The Hope of Advent
Sunday marked the beginning of Advent, a season of preparation. It is a time when Christians spend several weeks in penance, prayer and fasting as we prepare for the coming of Christ.
Happy Thanksgiving
What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than to be reminded of the character and the greatness of God? So read this Psalm with heartfelt gratefulness to the Lord God Almighty!
Bless the Lord
God wants to bless us, He wants to lavish us with heavenly blessings and the most important blessing that He has given us is in the form of His Son, Jesus Christ.
By Our Love
Our love for God should be more than mere words but shown through thoughtful acts for someone else. It is our love for others that conveys our love to God!
A Life of Thankfulness
2020 hasn’t presented itself as a year to remember. It has been head spinning to say the least and that doesn’t even begin to address any personal challenges experienced.
Thanks for answered prayer
God heard Hannah’s prayer and he gave her what she asked for, a son by the name of Samuel. She received what she asked for, but she also made a promise to give him back to God. And she did.
Thanks for God the Deliverer
When we give thanks to God we are not only recognizing who He is but also giving recognition of what He has done.
What have you done for me lately?
It shouldn’t matter if someone has done anything for you to be appreciative or to say thank you. You may not get what you deserve, or should I say what you expect from those you render kindness towards but that’s not why we do things in the first place is it?
Be Thankful
This Thanksgiving will be like none other. We have been encouraged to alter our plans, to forego family celebrations, to consider the health of others, and to exercise other means of being with friends and loved ones. As disappointing as this may be, it does not have to diminish the representation of “Thanksgiving Day”.
Expose & Share Our Hurts & Pains
How do you find joy when living (or existing) in the pain of the past? How do you reclaim your self-worth? Where can you find relief from the inner voice that calls you "unworthy and tarnished"? You have to confront it.
What I Needed
I sought understanding but was often dismissed, not because they didn’t want to help me. I think they didn’t know how to help me, as they didn’t have the capacity to understand how I was wired and what I needed.
Face Your Fear
God commands us not to fear, not to worry, but we live in a land where Satan's primary objective is to cause fear and to diffuse any hope that we have in Christ.
The Source of Anxiety
Just as in Adam and Eve’s case, sometimes our own actions or lack of action can be the source of anxiety.
No Need to Run!
To get through the emotional upheaval and pain experienced due to fear, remember who you are in Christ and what He has already done for you. You don’t have to run when you know who is with you.
No need to panic
Panic and fear were never a part of God’s plan. It was humankind’s inability to trust and obey God that allowed our anxious thoughts and dis-ease. However, there is a place you can go where God resides to rescue you from sudden and overpowering fright.
