The Hope of Christmas
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:3)
It is no wonder that Advent is the prelude to the ultimate gift that we have already received. The weeks leading up to Christmas Day are a great opportunity to reflect on the true spirit of Christmas. With so much focus placed on gift giving don’t forget to take a pause to remember the true meaning of this day. It is a day that should build your faith, to turn your attention to the power behind this day of gift giving and to celebration a future that is free of pain. It is a day where we pray, we get what we hoped for however not under a tree but from a small baby lying in a manger.
In this first week of Advent as we focus on hope, see the power of God that has yet to be revealed. It is the ultimate hope, a hope built on a trustworthy God who will fulfill every promise He has given, and He is not finished, the best we can hope for is yet to come! That is the hope of Christmas!
