“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand  (Isaiah 41:10)”

Fear, do not be afraid, fret not, anxiety, worry, and other variations are repeated hundreds of times throughout the bible.  They acknowledge that troubling thoughts and fears can consume your thoughts so much that you lose the ability to move forward.  But when these words are used they are followed by a command like, “fear not”.  Why is so much emphasis focused around fear? Because God knows it is a part of the human experience.

Experience teaches us that on our own we are incapable of handling all of life’s pressures yet we try and the result is mental unrest and uncontrollable fear often referred to as panic attacks.  Panic attacks are intense and the physical reactions are frightening.  You feel like you’re losing control or having a heart attack or more severely, dying.  That is not what God wants nor was it ever a part of His plan that you would suffer such.  When God says, “fear not” what He is saying is, you don’t have to take on the pressures of life.  You can trust me to care for you, “I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand”.

Knowing that there is nothing in life that God can’t fix is knowing that God is well able to bring peace to your anxious thoughts.  The next time panic sets in, remember His word, “Fear not, for I am with you”!
