Be Thankful

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,  (Hebrews 12:28).”

The concept of thanks is mentioned countless times throughout scripture.  In good times and in bad, in want and in plenty, in sadness and in joy, the clear indication is God is good and in all things we should render thanks to Him.

This Thanksgiving will be like none other.  We have been encouraged to alter our plans, to forego family celebrations, to consider the health of others, and to exercise other means of being with friends and loved ones.  As disappointing as this may be, it does not have to diminish the representation of “Thanksgiving Day”.

Being thankful, giving thanks is showing or expressing gratitude and appreciation and every day is an opportunity to be grateful.  It isn’t difficult and it is what God calls us to do, to be thankful.  It is a holy offering to the Lord our sustainer and the lover of our soul.
