Out of Love

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.  Do everything in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14)

Christians are held to high standards and we’re often criticized when we don’t meet another’s expectation of what we should do or be. Just because someone is a Christian doesn’t mean perfection. Just like anyone who seeks to live a life for Christ, it is a process, a constant maturing and acts of selflessness as you submit to God for the needs of others.

Acting out of love and doing the right thing can still make one vulnerable to attack that is why we are encouraged to be on guard and stand firm in faith. Job was that kind of man, one who feared God and lived a life that honored God and yet his friends attacked his character when his life was nothing short of exemplary.

Job was restored because he stood firm in what he believed and that is what we must do. Whatever you do, “do everything in love.”
