Love Is Grace
“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.” (1 Corinthians 13:1-4)
1 Corinthians 13 is often quoted at weddings as two come together to become one. However this text is not just about marriage but how we should view and exhibit love to everyone.
Love is central part of marriage but also in our daily interactions. Love is more than an intimate interconnection between two people, love is an action, a behavior, an attitude, the way we are to treat others.
Our gifts, our lives, our actions are worthless absent the presence of true sincere uncompromising love. It’s hard to fight when you love. The love of God is self-sacrificing and it is the kind of love we receive from Him every single day. It’s called grace.
