Blessings of God

“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26)”

Often spoken over congregants at the end of a worship service this scripture is given as a request and desire for blessings from God upon His people. When we consider blessings we often think of material blessings however blessings from God are so much more. You can have insurmountable riches yet miss what and how God blesses whom He loves. Being blessed by God is having His abiding presence and knowing that when He looks at you He is pleased with you, kind, loving, merciful and compassionate towards you. And ultimately, He keeps you even amid the direst of circumstances.

It is the blessings of God bestowing favor on His people that should evoke thanksgiving and praise. May the Lord bless and keep you!
