Count Your Blessings
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, (Psalm 103:1-2).”
This passage of scripture reminds me of a song I learned in Sunday School many years ago. It goes something like this:
Count your blessings, name them one by one, Count your blessings, see what God has done! Count your blessings, name them one by one, *Count your many blessings, see what God has done. [*And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.]
Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly, And you will keep singing as the days go by. When you look at others with their lands and gold, Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
This scripture and this song is a reminder to see beyond your trouble and to look at our God who enables us to endure difficulty and yet realize that we are still blessed. We are blessed to know that our God is Great and that He is the One who brings peace where there is confusion. That is of great benefit and worthy of praise to the God who is the keeper of our souls.
So take a moment and look around and count the blessings as you see what God has done!!
