Wisdom
“The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established (Proverbs 16:1-3).”
We need wisdom to govern our lives lest we slip into a dark well of misinformation and misguided plans. “For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it (Proverbs 8:11).” We can be wise in many things and have great knowledge but it is godly wisdom that gives insight and clarity which comes from God alone.
God’s word illuminates hidden things providing wisdom and understanding and the more you study it the more wisdom is acquired. You wonder why you can’t reach your goals or you’re unable to move past painful situations, is it possible you’re exercising worldly wisdom which is far removed from God? We can speak things with our tongue and plan great initiatives but it is God who examines our heart and the intentions of the things we say. In our own eyes we can justify many things but it is when we consider the will of God and seek to do the will of God that we will experience success.
“Give me ten men who hate nothing but sin and love nothing but God, and we’ll change the world.” – John Wesley
