Grace

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:8-10).”

We are alive today because of the grace of God. It was our belief in Jesus Christ that saved us and there is nothing we did or could have done to save ourselves. We have been given the power to believe but it is up to us to act on that belief. As such we have been shaped in the image of Christ for a specific purpose to accomplish His divine will. And what is God’s will?

To do what He wants you to do; to boldly share the gospel, to love others like your love yourself, to seek His will by putting Him first, to transform from the inside out by the power of His Holy Spirit, to be the raised children of light and not of darkness, to renew your mind through the reading, study and meditating on His word.

We are a spiritual family born of Christ, the sons and daughters the inheritance of Abraham, God’s chosen people, and it is because of that spiritual lineage we are no longer slaves to sin but free in Christ. With this knowledge we have power, power to transform, power to lead, the power to change.

“We are prone to judge success by the index of our salaries or the size of our automobiles rather than by the quality of our service and relationship to mankind.” Martin Luther King Jr.
