We Will Make It
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).”
This scripture is often quoted when experiencing bad times to encourage oneself that even in difficulty, God can turn it around for something good. But it’s hard to understand when you’re in the midst of the difficulty. As I focus on 2020 I am reminded of all of the people who have died. I wonder were they saved, did they know Christ. How are there family members coping? People have been buried and the families haven’t experienced closure because of the necessary safety restrictions to keep everyone safe. But that doesn’t take away the sting and the pain one feels, it is simply a rationalization that it is the best that can be done.
So how does this work together for good? Notice that Paul addresses this text to the “we”. And who are the “we”? They are the one’s who love God and are called by God. It doesn’t absent you from struggles or trials which is evident in Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us”.
To those who love God, to those who are called by God for His purpose, we will make it through these present sufferings if you are confident in His word and trust in His promises.
