The Lord’s Love is Faithful

“Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies (Psalm 36:5).”

The King James version of this scripture reads; “Your mercy , O Lord is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds”. Is there a distinction between God’s love and His mercy? I dare say no. This text is about God’s love and His mercy. His unfailing love is far reaching. Imagine the vastness of the sky, can you fathom such love, but that is the kind of love that God extends to His people.

How can one know such love, such faithfulness? We can’t if we are using human reasoning. Yet it is in His word as simplistic as we have made it sound that conveys His love and His mercy for everyone; “For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16)”.
