Love the Lord

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments (Matthew 22:37-40).”

Loving God is at the very heart of belonging to Him but we aren’t supposed to just say we love God but scripture tells us that we are to love Him with all that we are, our heart, our soul and all of our mind. Such intense all-consuming love for Him comes from having a relationship with Him. You say that’s easy? Not so fast. There is another part of God’s commandment of love and that is loving your neighbor as you love yourself.

If you truly love God with all of your being then loving your neighbor will come naturally because how you treat your neighbor will convey if you really love God.
