Joy of Salvation

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:10-12

No matter how hard we try to do what is right there are times our ego gets in the way. Doing what is right may require letting go of what you want, to admit that you are wrong and or to acknowledge our selfishness in pursing what we want. King David knew that above all things the flesh is sinful and that he needed the power of God to overcome his human inclinations. And God gave him a way to do just that, and that promise has been given us as well. Through Christ we have a new covenant sealed in the blood of Christ and because of Christ, God removes our hearts of stone and gives us a heart of flesh. That is how we can humbly ask, “restore to me the joy of your salvation”. It is God’s will and I pray our desire. #acleanheart #joy #salvation #APureHeart #TheBloodOfJesus #seethesonrise
