Following Christ

“As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:4-5

What’s most important to you? Living to please your friends and family or living to please God? Pleasing God may mean rejection by those who are closest to you, those who you thought truly loved you. When you have been set apart to serve God you are being called to holy living and not everyone will acknowledge or desire to be a part of your new life. Consider this, Jesus was rejected but stood steadfast in doing the will of His Father and in the end, He was raised up and is now our living Stone who resides in the hearts of all believers reassuring us and encouraging us to stay the course.
