Finding Peace in the Lord

World.png

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world (John 16:33).”

Understanding the context or the why of a statement or conversation eliminates any confusion as to the meaning something is being said or done. Here in John 16 Jesus was speaking with His disciples, a farewell discourse/conversation to put their minds at ease before His departure. He understood the troubles in the world, but it was important for His followers to know that they could obtain peace in Him. What mustn’t be missed in this conversation is that Jesus did not say there would be peace in the world but peace in Him. He had overcome the world.

The world is filled with trouble but the same Jesus who came and died is the same Jesus who is resurrected and sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding for you.

Real peace is found in Christ.
