Worth Keeping
Artifacts, old pictures, ticket stubs, gifts, toys, foreign currency, old clothes, souvenirs, dried flowers, magazines, videos, old cell phones, all things people hold onto but why? Possibly because you believe you may need it one day or that it reminds you of someone or something, and or there is a sense of guilt because of the person who gave it to you. Then there is the monetary component where the money spent has an impact on the ability to part with and or a sentimental component of days gone by and the need to capture the event through these consciousless collections.Such items hold a special place in the heart of the beholder but if considering the eternal value you will find that they are all meaningless. Our faith in God unlike the perishable items we collect has eternal value that brings security from Him who has promised. If you’re looking for something to keep, something worth holding onto, hold fast to God.“If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says GOD,“I’ll get you out of any trouble.I’ll give you the best of careif you’ll only get to know and trust me.Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.I’ll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!”Psalm 91:14-16 (MSG)
