Share Your Faith
Worship has changed over the years. People don’t see the need to attend traditional church services and have chosen alternative means to meet their spiritual needs. If the word is being preached and the listener is gaining understanding that should be okay, right? Well not so fast. Growing up, church played a significant role in teaching reverence of God and submitting to authority both inside and outside of the church. Reports suggest that church attendance has been declining over the years and the millennia’s are said to be leaving the church in droves. These are serious issues that need to be addressed but where do we begin?People believe more of what we say than what we do. If we who are of faith demonstrate anything less than the unaltered word of God, one would be wary of following. Those who are committed to living out their Christian faith have a huge responsibility to set the example where others develop a desire to follow. We all have a stake in this, our children need to not only know about God but to experience Him in a real and practical way. Share with them when you turned to Him in trying times or invite them into your periods of prayer and bible reading. Children learn a lot from their parents and you have a captive audience, at least for a little while. It is a form of discipline that helps make them disciples. It will not only change their lives but also our world.“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6
