We Need Prayer

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

We need to pray! This week we recognize the National Day of Prayer and if you look around it wouldn’t be hard to see that “WE NEED PRAYER”! As a nation and as a people, we need God’s intervention. Inflation is rising, there’s financial instability, political instability, pandemics, global warming, war, natural disasters, food shortages, famine, lack of clean water, fear of nuclear weapons, cyberattacks, poor air quality, etc. It was back in 1952 that President Harry S. Truman proclaimed a National Day of Prayer. Since that time, it was moved and recognized every first Thursday in May by President Ronald Reagan. However, if you look back through history, there was a first day of prayer declared back in 1775 by the Continental Congress. Back then, leaders saw the need for a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, but not only prayer but a day of solemn humility and fasting. We need to get back to being that nation. Pray ye one for another! #Pray #prayforthenation #prayfortheworld #prayforpeace #praywiththanksgiving #prayinhumility #praywithoutceasing #prayforourleaders #prayforourchildren #prayforeachother #PrayGodsWill #LiveForHim #seethesonrise
