Waiting Patiently

“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning (Psalm 130:5-6).”

Emotional and physical tension weighs a body down and the results are feelings of frustration, anger and nervousness. We want everything now and apply that same expectation/principle to God, however, God doesn’t operate on our timetable. Sometimes He simply says “wait”.

Waiting on God helps in gaining focus and acquiring direction to know His will and to do His will and it grows our faith. We just have to trust in His timing. In the meantime ask God what to do while you wait so that you are ready to receive whatever He has for you.

“Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains (James 5:7).”
