Wait
“The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” Lamentations 3:25We are a “waitless” generation. I know “waitless” is not a legitimate word but it signifies and identifies our hurried life. We don’t want to wait in line, we don’t want to wait for promotions, or for our life partners, for our doctors, in the check out lines, in traffic, for deliverance etc., etc., etc., Yet there are those who will get up early or stay up all night to catch a black Friday deal or some special sale. While on the phone trying to get an issue resolved I was placed on hold for over an hour and a half. Yes I was extremely agitated but I put the phone on speaker and continued to do other things while I waited. I would have been more frustrated if I’d sat idle while waiting but I was able to accomplish other tasks that didn’t make my time on hold appear so long.Scripture encourages us to wait on God because it is during our wait that He provides strength (Psalms 27:14), hope (Habakkuk 2:3), promise (1 John 3:2), deliverance (Psalms 37:9), salvation (Romans 10:13) and more.So as you wait don’t sit idle, do something that demonstrates confident and firm trust in God.“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.” Romans 12:11-13b
