A Friend of God
“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”John 15;15When it comes to relationships nothing is better than good friends. They make us feel good and walk with us through tough times providing a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. Good friends can go away for a while but they are always with you in spirit and although you may not see or talk to them for months or years, you pick right back up where you left off the moment you talk to or see them again. Unlike our families, we choose our friends and have a closeness that extends far beyond our blood relationships. They are the ones you are comfortable sharing your ups, downs, sadness, and joy. What a blessing it is to be called a friend of God! He knows everything we’ve done and will ever do and yet He still desires to be in a relationship with us. That’s a good friend! He is the friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24) and who willingly died for us (John 15:13).Money can buy many things but it can never buy a faithful friend. Be thankful for the friend you have in Christ!“What a friend we have in Jesus all our sins and grieves to bearWhat a privilege to carry everything to God in prayerOh what peace we often forfeit of what needless pain we bearAll because we do not carry everything to God in prayerHave we trials and temptations is there trouble anywhereIf we have don't be discouraged take it to the Lord in prayer”Universal Music Publishing Group©
