Unwavering Trust

“How long will thou forget me, O Lord? Forever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?” (Psalms 13:1)

Why does God ask us to trust Him in tough times? Well the most obvious answer is that He knew that we would experience times that need power, power beyond our ability to endure. Of course we would like God’s deliverance immediately but God is working on something in us, developing something in us.

Just like little children, we want what we want and we want it now. We want to be delivered now, we want the pain lessened now, and we want help now. But God’s word encourages us that our trials, our difficulties, our ongoing suffering builds strength and perseverance, the ability to hang in there as our faith is being matured.

Life needs faith and not just in anything or anyone but in God alone!
