Time Well Spent
You’re my place of quiet retreat; I wait for your Word to renew me. Psalm 119:114Over the weekend I had the privilege and opportunity to participate in a spiritual retreat. It was a time to pull away and refocus attention on the things of God, the things that really matter.Spiritual retreats allow you to escape the everyday hustle and bustle of life resulting in a stronger connection with God because there are no distractions. Jesus continually pulled away from people and His daily activities taking the time to pray as a way of connecting with the Father. “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed (Luke 5:16).”No matter how mature you are in your faith it is important to make it a priority to spend time with the Father. You don’t have to be in an organized setting however it is important to be in a place where there is no disturbance making it a daily practice to commune with Him. He wants to hear from you and in prayer He can bring clarity and direction. It is a time of restoration, connection, and renewal. It is time well spent.
