Seeking the New Born King

“After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.” (Matthew 2:1-3)

Why would anyone be disturbed when hearing of the birth of Jesus? If we really understood why He came there should be excitement and anticipation. However, King Herod was troubled, troubled that his authority would be threatened, that Jesus would overthrow the Roman government but what about “All of Jerusalem”, why are they afraid? It points to a misunderstanding and the lack of belief in the need of a Savior and His mission. Jesus came to seek and save lost souls, to fulfill the will of His Father. And it is that very goal that would cost Him His life and give us ours. Let us rejoice in this season as we celebrate the coming Savior. #Christmas #ChristTheKing #christthesaviorisborn #KingOfKings #Christ #SeekandSavetheLost #seethesonrise
