Put God First
January 14, 2019“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers (Psalms 1:1-3).”If ever there was a recipe for success this psalm spells it out well. Here success is not measured in dollars and cents but in morally upright behavior. It is in not adhering to those who do wrong or those who are committed to evil deeds and the things that are against God’s will. No, he or she takes pleasure in doing the things that please God and it is where they place their focus day and night. Unfortunately too many set their mind on meeting their financial goals, having a good 401k plan, the palatial home etc. But what happens when after accomplishing all of these preset goals, emptiness remains?
