Planted in Good Ground

The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:9It’s that time of year again when gardeners get excited. Their excitement comes as they consider the types of plants they want to create, seeing the beautiful gardens that surround their community, and the opportunity to be outside in the warmth of the sun. Another thing that brings about their joy is the daily watch as the seeds take root revealing their amazing masterpieces as they push through the compacted soil revealing all of the toil and tender care that was poured into creating a lush, beautiful, and vibrant garden. All gardeners don’t focus on the same types of plants however the one thing all gardeners have in common is that they’re willing to put in the hard work. Yet, despite all of the effort gardeners take to produce a beautiful array of carpeted beauty they still need two things that are not easily produced (at least not at their will); the sun and the rain.God is the Master gardener and it is easy to detect the garden He planted. He or she is the one that is nourished by meditating on His word. They are the ones who are satisfied by the constant watering received as they set their focus on doing what pleases God. They are the ones who do not tire nor do they quit when things look grim but they trust in the One who has planted them in good soil and who are confident that in due season they will reap if they do not faint (Galatians 6:9). They are the one’s whom God calls “Blessed”!Blessed is the onewho does not walk in step with the wickedor stand in the way that sinners takeor sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in seasonand whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.Psalm 1:1-3
