Unleash the Power
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”. Acts 1:8“At the end of the book of Matthew, specifically Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus spoke with His disciples giving them a specific command: “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” More widely known as “The Great Commission”. As His disciples they had been called by Him, taught by Him, and walked with Him. They saw the miracles He performed, watched demons flee, saw the lame healed, and sight restored to the blind and more. They saw thousands fed with little resources, He encouraged Peter to trust Him and Peter walked on water, He calmed storms with three little words “peace, be still” surely there was enough evidence for them to go and tell the world about this man name Jesus, to share His wondrous works, however they were going to need more than memories they were going to need power. It was at Pentecost that Jesus sent that power (see Acts 2), exactly what He’d promised and that same promise has been given to all who believe in Him.If you are in Christ and Christ is in you, you do not have to live a powerless life. Having power is not about having control, no, having power is about having the ability and the capacity by faith to do whatever God has called you to do and be. This kind of power offers contentment, hope and peace.Today, activate the power within you and go out and tell others about Christ, the one who empowered you to do the miraculous and the impossible!
