Our Heritage

“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed (Genesis 12:3).”AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, DNA test kits, all methods to determine paternity, where you come from and family heritage; people are curious, they want to know. Tracing one’s origin is insightful but not everything found would bring excitement. Christians need not question their heritage because once you accept your new life, your new birth in Christ you are now a part of God’s family and that life comes with many benefits.You’ve heard the scriptures, “no weapon formed against you shall prosper”, “I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you”, “and my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus”; it’s clear that those who belong to God are under divine heritage, divine blessings and divine promise. It reminds me of the story of King Balak (his story is found in Numbers 22-24).Balak feared God’s chosen people the Israelites and enlisted the aid of Balaam (a diviner) to curse them. However every time Balaam went to God on behalf of the King’s request the Lord only confirmed His hand over Israel and moreover uses Balaam the diviner to share of the coming Christ whose kingdom will one day be established throughout earth. No matter what desire Balak had for Israel, God’s plan was what would win.When you belong to God you need not worry who or what rises up against you seeking to destroy or thwart the will of God. As His heritage there is nothing nor anyone that will prevent God’s plan from being fulfilled for you! No need to wonder “whose your daddy” because we know that He is the Lord Almighty, the Lord Our God, the Savior of the world!!
