Living for Christ
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body (2 Corinthians 4:8-10).”
Living for Christ means being an example of His nature, His purpose, and His life yet it doesn’t mean things will be easy. No matter how great the difficulty, no matter how bad it looks, no matter what onlookers might think, the present suffering demonstrates the confidence you hold in Christ. Not because of what you experience but because of your ability to endure. For the Apostle Paul suffering was not an idea but an actuality.
“How innumerable are the benefits which God conveys to the children of men through the channel of sufferings!” Theologian John Wesley
