Letter Writing

February 18, 2019No one writes letters anymore, at least a large amount of the population doesn’t. With the advancement of technology it’s just as easy to send a text message, quick email, or reach out using some other quick form of communication. But did you know that there are people out there who don’t have access to such tools and they may not be communicated with at all or forgotten. Think about it, Christmas cards were once something to look forward to and now they’ve been relegated to flashing emoji’s and group texts.

Letter’s aren’t complicated and really don’t take up that much time. Or if you’re lost for words, greeting cards are still in existence and can speak when you can’t find the words to say. In fact, letter writing is cheaper because it doesn’t require expensive equipment, just a blank sheet of paper and a stamp will do.Letters build relationships. In the New Testament the Apostle Paul wrote many letters expressing his love and how much he missed those whom he met on his journeys. He was endearing and encouraging but he also admonished writing out of his love for his recipients.When you take the time to sit down to write a letter you are telling the recipient how special they are to you. And when you consider it, the bible is filled with letters; letters from a loving God who desires to have a deep and committed relationship with us.
