Lay Down Your Burdens

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30Life creates many obstacles and learning to get through them is a challenge. For some, the challenges become seemingly insurmountable and that becomes overwhelming. You’ve tried it your way but you find yourself without relief, failing to achieve the result you expected. Well-wishers seek to rid you of feelings of failure, sadness or defeat however that does not always work.No one is exempt from the heaviness of life. There are things that can shake your very core but you mustn’t relent when help is within your reach. It’s a part of being human and while human we are also spirit beings. Jesus is saying, you don’t have to suffer these burdens alone, He urges us to come to Him.There will be times when you get tired and feel that you can’t endure one more thing and you don’t need to. Go to Him and unload your burdens at His feet. You may not get immediate relief but it is an opportunity to take a pause to regain your strength to endure whatever challenge life brings.“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.  We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;  persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-9
