Key to Success

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalm 1:1-2We love that word “blessed” but behind that word are actions that prepare us to receive those blessings. The psalmist says blessed is the one who does not follow the advice of the wicked, the one who stands for what is right, and the one who is not bitter. Blessed people receive their joy by doing what is right, following the teachings of Christ and exhibiting these behaviors at all times. This joy comes from deliberate focus on the word of God and it is that word that brings spiritual insight, spiritual growth, deeper insight, and sharpens spiritual weapons when faced with sin. That is what meditating on God’s word brings; joy, delight, and true happiness.“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.
