Incomplete

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.  For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5:16-17We have freedom in Christ but that does not mean we are free to do whatever we want to do. When we accepted Christ we were justified or declared righteous but that doesn’t mean we automatically begin to live a sinless life. We are still flesh and the flesh desires what it desires. There will be conflicts as you die to the things that at one time brought you pleasure. Everyday God is molding believers into the image of His Son, which is sanctification (e.g. made holy). No one should expect that the minute they become a Christian they will be perfect and that they no longer will enjoy the things that previously brought delight. Far from it. It is a growing process, one whereby God is patient with us leading us and providing us with the teaching and guidance to become more like Him. When Jesus was led into the wilderness He was led by the Spirit but He was also filled with the Spirit and that is exactly what it is going to take for us to walk by the Spirit.Yes we are Christians but we are incomplete. We will be tested and tried but when all is said and done we become who God has purposed us to be.Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4
