He's Always There
“…And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20b)Can you trust God when you can’t see Him? You can be so close to God that you feel His presence but then something happens and He appears far away and even absent. Is He there? Why can’t you see or feel Him? Could it be that you just haven’t looked for Him lately? If you want to see God just look all around. The sky, the birds, the changing seasons, childbirth, the ability to function, to walk, to talk, to see; all of these are representations of the presence of God. However there is the tendency to forget that God is a spirit and we worship Him in spirit and in truth. The spirit is the nonphysical part of which we are, the place where our emotions and soul lie, the place where the Lord lives. And if you have received Christ His presence lives in you in your spirit. If you can’t see Him it is because your flesh doesn’t want you to see the Advocate the One who fights for you providing the guidance and protection needed to get through each day.Seeing God is not about physical sight. Seeing God is discerning His presence, the beauty of creation, and being tuned in much like you tune into your television, radio, and technological devices. We tune them to what we want to hear, what we want to see, our preferences and that is what we listen to. We listen to what we like and if your proclivity is for God then that is what you will tune into, what you will search for, what you will hear and see.If you really want to see God, change the station and you’ll be surprised at the wondrous things He’ll show you. “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile (Jeremiah 29:13-14).”
