God Hears Us

“How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me (Psalm 13:1-2)?

Many Christians have asked these questions especially in the midst of despair. It is understandable that children of God would expect their Heavenly Father to come to their rescue. But suffering, trials, disappointments, are a part of the Christian experience and has the ability to grow our faith to get us to a place where we can accept the pain and believe that God can bring good out of bad. Job exclaimed; “But He knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold (Job 23:10).”

It has been said, “The silence of God does not mean the absence of God”. So the next time you cry out to God and you don’t hear from Him, trust Him, He’s still there refining you applying heat to expose your impurities, your struggles for it is in the heat we are being transformed into His image and into His likeness.
