Encouraging Words

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

It is breast cancer awareness month. Recently a well-known American journalist announced her battle with breast cancer. Every 2 minutes a woman in the United States is diagnosed with this disease*. No one likes to hear a bad diagnosis but when we do, how do we cope? Believers turn to the word of God. It is in His word we gain the courage to endure and find hope. It is through our individual struggles we gain empathy for others and develop an understanding of what they may be going through.

His presence, even in the midst of pain assures us we are not alone. God’s word is a source of encouragement and strength.
