Disconnected

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.” Psalm 22:1-2The anguish one feels when they’ve been praying day after day but finding no relief. The cries sent up to heaven when the heart is heavy and no answers are in sight. It is the lament of people who feel disconnected to God but in their distress they seek to regain that connection. We cry out to God for many reasons. In despair, loneliness, depression, anxiety and more but when the One you have put your trust appears absent a feeling of isolation sets in morphing into feelings of separation, and disconnection. Recently my Internet went down and I had no access to any of my devices I use to communicate to the outside world. I tried everything and finally had to call out to the service provider to obtain a remedy. It took some time but my connection was reestablished. It made me think of how it feels when we disconnect from our Provider (God). We rely on Him for many things and over time we take for granted that He is our Provider and it is He who will hear and answer our prayers, our cries, however the remedy is not always immediate.Sometimes it is in our daily interactions, our daily encounters that God can teach us lessons that help us in our ongoing walk with Him. Never take God for granted and make it your daily practice of remaining connected to Him.
