Christ Awaits Your Return
“So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him (Luke 15:20).”
The story of the prodigal son is a story often used as an example of the love of a father, a parent who more than anything unconditionally loved his son. But it is exactly what we did when we ignored the love of Christ. We were raised in the church, but we chose to find our own way only to realize that what we had was far better than what we left. It was the son who walked away but it was being in a world that didn’t love him as his father had loved him that brought him back home.
No matter how far we drift from Christ, He waits and doesn’t ask where we’ve been or what we’ve done (He already knows). It is this kind of love that God desires we share with one another.
