Wait

“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD (PSALM 27:14).”God has made some promises. He said “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Such words call us to be patient but what those words don’t say is sit idly by and do nothing. When you’re waiting on God you should be walking toward what He has for you.Abraham, Joseph, Moses, and David had to wait for years before receiving God’s promise. But consider everything they had to go through before it ever materialized. Abraham never saw his many descendants but God delivered, Joseph went through slavery and false imprisonment before His dream came to life, Moses led the children out of slavery, saw the promised land yet never got to take them there, and God promised King David that his throne would be established forever. Every promise God made He fulfilled and ever promise He makes will be fulfilled. So is there something you too are waiting for God’s fulfillment?Waiting on God can take time and when you lack patience you may find yourself making decisions that are outside the will of God. When you believe God and take Him at His word you are exercising faith and it doesn’t always look like you think it will. The key is to seek Him, listen for His voice and do something. Don’t sit idly by hoping God’s promise will fall into your lap.Impatience is the enemy of faith. Trust God in the process and the outcome will be just as He promised.
