Vindication

“Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over. (Matthew 26:14-16)

It’s a busy week in the life of Christ before His crucifixion. On Wednesday of passion week, it is thought to be the day that Jesus was betrayed by Judas. It bears the question, “why do bad things happen to good people”. Jesus suffered for us, He bore all our sins and it was our sin that caused His suffering. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21)”.

We too may experience hurt and betrayal but take heart in God’s word; "The Son of Man goes, even as it is written of him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born (Matthew 26:24)." The Lord will vindicate His people (Psalm 135:14). #Jesus #SonOfGod #righteousness #God #PassionOfChrist #helovesus #seethesonrise
