Trusting God in Uncertainty

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3)”.All over the world there is uncertainty. Thousands have fallen by the hand of an invisible foe. Empty store shelves, overstocked grocery carts, long check out lines, impatient shoppers, cancelled events, church closings, overwhelming anxiety and panic. Who knows from one day to the next what to expect. We’re looking for answers and even with all of the precautions there’s no way to tell who specifically will be impacted. Such catastrophic events speak of a time to come when no man made solution(s) will have any affect. Isn’t it interesting that this malady (coronavirus) a foe that we cannot see has incited such a cause to action but rarely is that kind of energy utilized in pursuit of the invisible God.Stocking up on essentials is understandable but we need more than hand sanitizers, soap, and toilet paper. All of these things will diminish and then what? We need the sustaining power of God to navigate these waters. In times like these your faith must rise up to provide assurance that although humankind has no cure the Lord will enable us to endure. There will continue to be unsettling events in our lifetime and clinging to God’s word can get you through tough times.
