Trust the Lord

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him (Jeremiah 17:7).”

“God helps those who help themselves” is a phrase often suggested as scripture. To be clear it is not! Such proverbial statements lend itself to advocating that whatever you pursue, whatever your hopes or dreams or aspirations, God will help you achieve it. Such self-seeking idealists seek personal achievement and goals rather than the will of God. Instead of “God helps those who help themselves”, consider; “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

These are people whose hope is in the Lord.
