True Contentment

“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want (Philippians 4:11-12).

It takes more than mere will to achieve contentment. True contentment takes determination to hold fast to the teachings of God found in His word. It is His word that reminds us that He is with us, that He will not fail us, that He will keep us, that He will not leave us, that He will provide for us, and most of all, that He will keep every promise He made to us.
