The Comforter

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away (Revelation 21:4).”

So many tears have been shed over the past several days and it seems there are still more that will be shed. Unfortunately, the tears that are being shed today are neither tears of happiness nor of joy but tears of heartbreak and loss, of pain and sorrow, of innocence shattered, emotions that mere words cannot explain. Tears flowing down our cheeks like rivers, intractable, numbing, tears that aren’t easily wiped away. But a day is coming when Jesus will wipe away every tear from our eyes, erasing away all the pain and grief we have suffered and will suffer.

Praise be to the God of all comfort “who comforts us in all our troubles”
