The Anecdote to Sin

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).”Understandably there are many reasons to be concerned about the coronavirus (aka COVID19). According to the WHO (World Health Organization) there are a lot of misconceptions about this disease. People want to know the truth. What exactly is this disease, where does it come from, who is affected, how is it spread, who is at risk, how will I know if I have it, can my pet get infected, is there a vaccine for it, is there any medicine that can treat it etc.? But along with the COVID19 there is another disease that can not only take your life but determine your destiny and that disease is sin.Sin is equally destructive with the most severe effect and consequence being eternal death. Sin just like other communal diseases has an effect on those around you separating you from a relationship with God. However unlike COVID19 there is an anecdote and it is the amazing grace of God; “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1John1:9)”.We don’t have the answers to all the problems in the world but God does so we need not fear what is unknown but have faith in God who is known and is a ever-present help in the life of the believer.
