Soar
“He gives strength to the wearyand increases the power of the weak.Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;but those who hope in the LORDwill renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”Isaiah 40:29-31Unlike other birds eagles don’t flap their wings in order to fly, eagles soar. The prophet Isaiah compared those who have hope, confidence, and trust in the Lord to that of eagles. Unlike other birds eagles spread their wings and rise high in the air (soar) which is more energy efficient reserving their strength for when necessary. Unlike other birds that flap their wings to gain momentum to fly. Those who wait on God are not given into tiredness, falling, or quitting. They rise up above their circumstance as they are confident that God will see them through. Eagles rise high and they will never surrender to the size or strength of its prey. No matter what the enemy may throw at you God will give you the strength to rise above it, to soar for His “…strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9b)No matter how strong you think you are there will be situations that literally take your breath away. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Mark 14:38). It is the power and strength of God that will see you through.
