Rest and Worship

“The LORD said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Do no regular work, but present a food offering to the LORD.’” Leviticus 23:23-25

Yesterday, September 25, 2022, at sundown marked the beginning of the Jewish High Holidays. One of two main High Holy Days (the other being Yom Kippur), it is a celebratory time and a time for introspection and reflection, and a time of repentance and prayer. It was a day established by the Lord to the Children of Israel as a day of rest and worship. It is a well honored ritual by a people whom God called His own. It is one that affirms their love of God and confident faith in Him.

Whether you observe this day or not, it is of benefit to us all to remember God’s faithfulness, which is worthy of worship of Him for all He has done. #new #God #celebrate #reflect #prayer #FaithfulnessofGod #holy #Repent #repentance #LoveOfGod #HappyNewYear #rest #WorshipHim #FaithfulnessofGod #seethesonrise
