Rest and Meditation
“For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day: therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and made it holy (Exodus 20:11).”
The bible does not say what Jesus did on Day 4 of Holy week also known as Passion Week but there are several speculations including intimations He rested in Bethany. We can only imagine after everything that was going on days before and what He was about to face, rest would not be unheard of.
Christianity is not easy and it is imperative that rest is a part of a weekly ritual. Jesus fully human and God understood that the physical man gets tired and if you really want to be effective disciples of Christ you must listen to your body and take the time to pull away and rest.
To be effective disciples take time for Sabbath, a day (whatever that day might be) sanctified as a day of rest, to spend some alone time with God praying, meditating, worshipping and reading His word.
