Promise of HIS Return

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Peter 1:3-5).”

Yesterday we celebrated the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but the message nor the story ends there because there are some things occurring during His resurrection and His ascension into heaven that are worth noting. These events are vital to all believers as it continues to confirm and infuse the heart and faith of all believers.

During Holy week we focused on His entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, His crucifixion and Resurrection. Knowing that Jesus is Risen isn’t enough but that in rising we not only have hope but a living hope, a promise that He will return again to receive those who belong to him, a promise of eternal life.
